Clawson fell to No. 1-ranked Notre Dame in three sets (25-12, 25-12, 25-13) in the Division 2 district final at Lamphere on Friday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with seven kills and eight digs. Aliyah Vesper and Ava LaMotte each had 11 digs. Renata Carlesimo had nine assists, five digs and one block, and Natty Lertkasem had six digs and two kills.  The Trojans finish the 2021 season with a 26-8 overall record, and repeated as MAC Silver champions with a perfect 10-0 record.

Clawson defeated Cranbrook in four sets (25-13, 16-25, 25-15, 25-17) in the Division 2 district semifinal at Lamphere on Wednesday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 18 kills, nine digs, two blocks and two aces, and Aliyah Vesper had 15 kills, 12 digs, two aces and one block. Hannah Saunders had eight kills and four blocks. Renata Carlesimo had 46 assists and 13 digs, and Ava LaMotte had 14 digs. Natty Lertkasem had seven digs, five kills and two aces, and Libby Myren had three kills. Clawson will play Notre Dame in the Division 2 district final at 5 p.m. Friday at Lamphere.

Clawson won all three of its matches Thursday at the Lakeview Quad, ending its regular season on a five-match winning streak. Clawson began the day with straight-set wins against Lakeview (25-20, 25-19) and Voyageur Academy (25-10, 25-23) before coming from behind to defeat Cardinal Mooney in three sets (19-25, 25-18, 15-10). Charlie Verner led the Trojans totaling 24 kills, 14 digs and three blocks, and Aliyah Vesper had 26 digs, 17 kills and five aces. Ava LaMotte totaled 32 digs. Renata Carlesimo had 34 assists, 13 digs and three aces, Anna Smith had 12 assists and Abby Myren had seven assists. Natty Lertkasem had 16 digs and nine kills, and Evie Liford had six kills, four blocks and three aces. Libby Myren and Gloria Lock each had two kills, and Ashley Hildebrant and Emma Dibble each had two digs.  Clawson finished the regular season at 25-7, and 10-0 in the MAC Silver. The Trojans next play at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Division 2 district semi-final at Lamphere against the winner of Monday's match between Cranbrook and Lamphere.

Clawson defeated Lamphere in straight sets (26-16, 28-26, 25-17) on Tuesday, wrapping up its conference play with a perfect 10-0 record and winning the MAC Silver in back-to-back seasons. Aliyah Vesper led the Trojans with 18 kills and five digs, and Charlie Verner had 14 kills and six digs. Ava LaMotte had 15 digs and two assists. Renata Carlesimo had 27 assists, four digs, three kills and one block, and Abby Myren had 12 assists. Natty Lertkasem had five digs and three kills, and Libby Myren had three kills. Hannah Saunders had two kills, two blocks and two aces, and Evie Liford had one kill and one block.  Emma Dibble had one ace and one dig, Gloria Lock had one kill, and Ashley Hildebrant had one dig. Clawson improves to 22-7 overall.

Clawson clinched its second-straight MAC Silver championship with a three-set win (25-17, 25-16, 25-14) against Hazel Park on Thursday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 11 kills, and Gloria Lock had seven kills. Evie Liford had four kills and one block. Abby Myren had 24 assists and four aces. Natty Lertkasem had five digs and three aces, and Ava LaMotte had four digs. Aliyah Vesper had two kills, and Ashley Hildebrant, Libby Myren and Emma Dibble each had two aces.  Clawson improved to 21-7 overall, and 9-0 in the MAC Silver with only one league match remaining.

Clawson fell to Troy in three sets (25-20, 26-24, 25-23) in a non-conference match on Wednesday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 16 kills and two blocks, and Aliyah Vesper had 11 digs and nine kills. Renata Carlesimo had 28 assists and 10 digs.  Ava LaMotte had 13 digs, and Natty Lertkasem had nine digs and four kills. Ashley Hildebrant had four digs, Evie Liford had two blocks and one kills, and Gloria Lock had one kill.  Clawson is now 20-7 overall. 

Clawson celebrated its Senior Night with a straight set victory against New Haven (25-17, 25-19, 25-12) on Thursday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 15 kills, and Aliyah Vesper had nine kills, six digs and three aces. Renata Carlesimo had 28 assists, and Abby Myren had five assists and three digs. Ava LaMotte had 10 digs and two assists, and Natty Lertkasem had seven kills and five digs. Evie Liford had four kills, Ashley Hildebrant had two aces, and Libby Myren had one block. Clawson has exceeded last season's win total, improving to 20-6 overall, and is now 8-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson defeated host Warren Mott in four sets (25-14, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20) on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in conference play. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 22 kills, four aces and four digs, and Aliyah Vesper had nine digs and seven kills. Gloria Lock had eight kills, and Hanna Saunders had seven kills.  Renata Carlesimo had 22 assists and seven digs, Anna Smith had 13 assists and three aces, and Libby Myren had 12 assists. Natty Lertkasem had 11 digs and three aces, Emma Dibble had five digs, and Ashley Hildebrant had three digs and three aces. Libby Myren had four kills and Evie Liford had two kills. Clawson improves to 15-4 overall and 6-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson defeated host Lamphere in straight sets (25-18, 25-5, 25-7) on Thursday to stay unbeaten in conference play.  Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 16 kills and five digs, and Aliyah Vesper had six kills and six digs.  Renata Carlesimo had 19 assists, and Anna Smith had seven assists. Natty Lertkasem had nine digs and three aces, and Ashley Hildebrant had seven aces. Hannah Saunders had four kills and three blocks, Gloria Lock had three kills, and Libby Myren had one kill. The first set saw a lot of back-and-forth play, with Lamphere leading early on. The turning point, however, came after a perfect pass on serve receive from Hildebrant and a quick kill from Verner, putting Clawson within one point at 15-14. The Trojans then finished the first set on a 12-3 run, and that momentum carried forward. Clawson refused to allow any more back-and-forth play, and in the second set Hildebrant served 16 straight points, which included five aces, to build a giant lead for the Trojans. A combined strategy of aggressive serves and running strong plays off of freeballs helped Clawson hold Lamphere to only 12 total points in the final two sets. Clawson improved to 14-4 overall, and remains undefeated halfway through conference play at 5-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson defeated Hazel Park in straight sets (25-6, 25-5, 25-10) on Thursday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 11 kills, and Aliyah Vesper had eight kills. Gloria Lock had four kills. Natty Lertkasem had six aces and two kills, and Ava LaMotte had four aces. Emma Dibble had four aces. Renata Carlesimo had 11 assists, Abby Myren had seven assists, and Anna Smith has five assists.  Clawson improved to 13-4 overall, and 4-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson defeated New Haven in straight sets (25-18, 25-12, 25-13) on Tuesday in its third conference match of the season. The Trojans came out swinging and serving aggressively and continued all night long.  Aliyah Vesper led the Trojans with 7 kills, 10 digs and a block, Natty Lertkasem added 6 kills, 7 digs and an assist, Hannah Saunders added 7 kills, 3 aces and a block, Charlie Verner and Libby Myren each added 3 kills and Evie Liford and Gloria Lock added another 2 kills each. Renata Carlesimo led the setters with 11 assists, 4 aces and 2 digs, followed by Anna Smith with 7 assists, 3 aces and 5 digs, and Abby Myren added another 6 assists 3 digs.  Ava LaMotte added to the mix with another 2 assists, 4 aces and 5 digs Clawson improved to 12-4 overall and 3-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson defeated Oakland Christian in 2 sets (25-20, 25-19) in the opener for the Tribune Tournament. The Trojans took the court and started the day strong. Charlie Verner led with 10 kills, 4 digs and an ace, Aliyah Versper added 5 kills, 3 digs and 2 aces. Hannah Saunders and Natty Lertkasem added 3 kills each. Renata set the pace for wins with 15 assists and an ace with Ava LaMotte adding 7 digs for the win. Clawson continued with the 2nd match of the tournament with a win against Everest Collegiate in 2 sets (25-23, 25-18). Trojans continued to dominate the court with Charlie Verner adding 11 kills an ace and a block and Aliyah Vesper adding 5 kills an ace and 2 digs. Hannah Saunders and Natty Lertkasem each adding 3 kills.  Anna Smith continued to set it up adding 20 assists and an ace with Ava LaMotte adding 5 digs for the 2nd win of the tournament. The 3rd match of the tournament the Trojans faced undefeated Cardinal Mooney. Clawson took the win in 2 sets  adding their third win of the tournament (25-18, 25-19). Trojans continued strong with Aliyah Vesper adding 2 aces and 7 kills, Charlie Verner adding 7 kills and a block, Hannah Saunders added and ace and a kill and Libby Myren added a kill. Renata Carlesimo added another 18 assists and Ava LaMotte and Natty Lertkasem added 4 digs each for the win.   Clawson Trojans ended pool play going 3-0 and earning top seed in their pool.  To add to the highlights of the day, all coaches cast votes for All Tribune Tournament Team which are the top 10 players of the tournament. The player that receives the most votes is declared the MVP of the tournament. This year, there was a 3 way tie, and Charlie Verner and Aliyah Vesper each earned the highest honor. Along with the honor, the Trojans advanced to the Gold Pool for playoffs. Trojans continued to dig deep in playoffs and launched a stunning run during the second set but fell to Bishop Foley (20-25, 23-25). Aliyah Vesper led the Trojans with 6 kills and 4 digs, Hannah Saunders added 6 kills and a block, Charlie Verner added 4 kills, 6 digs and 4 straight aces during a crucial run get the Trojans back.  Anna Smith added 2 kills and 8 assists.  Renata Carlesimo added 3 assists and Ava LaMotte added 7 digs and Natty Lertkasem added and additional 4 digs.  The Trojans ended the day earning 3rd place in the Gold Pool going 3-1. Clawson improved to 11-4 overall and 2-0 in the MAC Silver.      

Clawson defeated South Lake in straight sets (25-9, 25-10, 25-18) on Tuesday in its second conference match of the season. The Trojans dominated the court with amazing plays by all.  Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 10 kills, 8 digs and 4 aces, and Aliyah Vesper with 6 kills, 8 digs and 5 aces, and Natty Lertkasem added 6 kills, and an ace. Libby Myren had 4 kills, Hannah Saunders had 3 kills, and Evie Liford added two kills.  Abby Myren set the team up for the wins with 27 assists and 3 aces with Ava LaMotte adding seven digs,  Clawson improved to 8-3 overall, and 2-0 in the MAC Silver.

Clawson finished 1-2 at the Croswell-Lexington Quad on Friday, losing to Croswell-Lexington (25-20, 25-18, 25-18) and Cass City (25-20, 24-26, 25-23) before ending the day with a win against Memphis (25-19, 25-18, 26-24). Charlie Verner led the Trojans totaling 30 kills, 11 digs and five aces, and Aliyah Vesper had 20 kills, 13 digs and six blocks. Gloria Lock added 13 kills.  Renata Carlesimo had 45 assists and four aces, Anna Smith had 21 assists, and Abby Myren had six assists. Natty Lertkasem totaled 28 digs and five aces. Hannah Saunders had eight kills and eight blocks, and Libby Myren had five blocks and three kills. Evie Liford had three blocks and two kills, Ashley Hildebrant had four aces, and Emma Dibble had two digs. Clawson is now 6-3 overall.

Clawson defeated Royal Oak in straight sets (26-24, 25-21, 25-21) on Tuesday. Charlie Verner led the Trojans with 12 kills and five digs. Aliyah Vesper had seven kills, six digs, four blocks, and three aces.  Renata Carlesimo had 29 assists, six digs and two kills, and Ava LaMotte had 15 digs. Natty Lertkasem had four kills and five digs, and Hannah Saunders and Libby Myren each had two kills.  Clawson improved to 5-1 overall.

Clawson won two of its matches at the Warren Woods Tower Quad on Monday, losing the first match to Berkley (25-21, 22-25, 15-6) before earning victories against Tower (25-23, 19-25, 15-13) and Lakeshore (25-14, 25-16). Charlie Verner led the Trojans with a total of 29 kills, 22 digs and eight aces. Aliyah Vesper had 23 kills and four aces, and Hannah Saunders had 10 kills and six blocks. Anna Smith had 32 assists, Renata Carlesimo had 25 assists and five digs, and Abby Myren had six assists. Ava LaMotte had 20 digs, and Natty Lertkasem had four digs. Libby Myren had two kills and three blocks. Ashley Hildebrant and Emma Dibble each had one dig and one ace, Gloria Lock had one kill, and Evie Liford had one block. Clawson improved to 4-1 overall.

Charlie Verner totaled 12 kills, six digs and five aces, and Aliyah Vesper had 13 kills, five digs and three blocks. Anna Smith had 21 assists, and Renata Carlesimo had seven assists and three aces. Ava Lamotte had eight digs, and Natty Lertkasem had three kills, three aces and three digs. Libby Myren had three kills, and Hannah Saunders had two kills and two aces.
